Mineral processing

Highly concentrated brine can cause significant damage to most pipes and reduce pipe lifespan. Many mines experience pipe deterioration due to corrosive chemical compounds and salts. When transporting brine and acid solutions with HDPE pipelines, salts can easily stick to the pipe walls and reduce their inner diameter. In low ambient temperatures, deposits of calcium sulfate can also form in the inner walls and on the elbows of these pipes.
